Last night we had a strong meet against Sherwood! The results are attached and available on MCPS Swimtopia. Thanks as always to our volunteers, and to our athletes who were adaptable and positive when we had to modify the meet program because prior meets ate into our allotted time. 

I was encouraged to see good racing and competition not just in our scoring lanes, but in our exhibition lanes and relays. We had a number of best times, first time Metros cuts, and athletes stepping up to try new events. If we continue to go up to the blocks ready to fight for every place/point, the times and the outcomes will take care of themselves.

Our boys won big (114-70), winning five individual events and all 3 relays, going 1-2 in the Medley and 200 Free Relays. Congrats to Jack (x2), Daniel (x2), and Pietro on individual wins. A special shoutout to Alek and Matthew, who are diving for the first time this year, and scored key dive points in their dual meet debuts.

On the girls side we fought hard but came up short 102-81. This was a measuring stick meet for us, as Sherwood has a very strong and deep girls team. We picked up 4 individuals wins (Anna x2 and Elizabeth x2) and won 2/3 relays. In future duals, we will work to squeeze out more 2nd/3rd/4th place finishes in order to come out on top. A great development is that we had a very strong dive performance with our girls going 2-3-4-5 all separated by 5 points or less.

Meet: Saturday vs QO at MLK Swim Center at 11:30am. If you cannot attend please mark yourself unavailable ASAP because I would like to start the lineup tomorrow night.
