Damascus Recap

Yesterday we wrapped up the first half our season against Damascus, picking up wins on the boys and girls side (Results are attached)! We head into the break with the boys 3-0 and girls 2-1. We are currently tied with Sherwood and Poolesville for the D2 lead. The following link has the division standing and an explanation of how the dual meet results + divisionals are used to crown a champion.  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1urz849jYjm...

The boys won in resounding fashion, going 1-2 in all 3 relays and taking 1st+2nd in 7/8 individuals events. Due to limited lane space, we had a lot of boys not entered in the meet, but they made positive contributions through spirit and cheering on deck to create a positive atmosphere for fast swims.

Congrats to our boys event winners:

- Jack (completing the rare 200/50 free double)

- Michael (IM)

- Johnny (100 Free)

- Daniel (Fly)

- Pietro (Back)

- Justin (Breast)

Despite injuries, illness and travel leaving our girls shorthanded, across both swim and dive there were tough performances to fight for every spot and flip the meet in our favor. It is often those close finishes for 3rd/4th/5th in each race that add up over the course of a meet and determine who wins. This was a true TEAM win that took contributions from every swimmer/diver we had available. The girls will have another tough meet against Rockville when we return from break!

Congrats to our girls event winners:

- Isabelle W (IM)

- Anna (50 Free, Fly)

- Felicia (100 Free)

Thanks to all of our volunteers for their efforts at yesterday's meet and throughout the first half of our season. We would not be able to have the success we have in the pool without the parent support.

There will be no practice until January 6th/7th, and we have our first meet back on the 10th.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. I hope everyone can use the next few weeks to rest, recharge, and get healthy for the 2nd half of the season.

Go Patriots!
